Privacy Policy — Meta Ad Library Downloader

This policy covers the Meta Ad Library Downloader Chrome extension ("the extension") published by HookAds ("HookAds," "we," "us"). It is intentionally short because the extension collects very little.

What the extension does

On the Meta / Facebook Ad Library pages you open, the extension adds a Download and an optional Save to HookAds button to each ad card. Downloading saves the ad's image or video to your computer. Saving keeps the ad in your HookAds swipe file.

What it accesses, and what leaves your browser

• Ad card content — only on Meta Ad Library pages you visit, the extension reads the public fields already shown on an ad card (advertiser name, ad copy, media URL, and the "started running" date). It does not read any other website, tab, or page.
• Downloads — when you click Download, the file is fetched and saved by your browser directly. This happens on your device and sends nothing to us.
• Save to HookAds (optional) — only if you use it, the details of the ad you saved, along with your HookAds sign-in token, are sent to HookAds so the ad appears in your account. If you never use Save to HookAds, no data is transmitted to us at all.

What it stores

Your saved swipe list and, if you connect an account, your HookAds sign-in token are stored locally in your browser (Chrome storage). We do not store your browsing history.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
• We do not track your browsing across the web.
• We do not collect your name, contacts, location, or payment details in the extension.
• We never touch TikTok — the extension works on Meta / Facebook ads only.

Permissions

• Access to facebook.com/ads/library — to add the buttons and read the public ad card.
• Downloads — to save the ad's image or video to your computer.
• Storage — to keep your swipe list and optional sign-in token locally.
• hookads.ai — used only by the optional "Save to HookAds" button.
